Dogs of Orcas Island Getaway

All three of our homes welcome dogs, and some of our favorite guests have four legs. Here are a few who’ve stayed with us.

Official mascot

Hi, I’m Scrappy!

Meet Scrappy, the official greeter and ambassador of Orcas Island Getaway. We "rescued" him from a Ross store in 2013, and he’s called the front deck home since 2014.

Your pup could be our Pup of the Month.

Each month, Lori & Todd pick a Pup of the Month, who gets a little something from the island and a spot on our social and newsletter. Share a photo of your pup.

The first Pup of the Month will be chosen in November 2026.

Pups who have stayed with us

Dakota, a tan dog, asleep curled up in a round dog bed.

I’m independent and sometimes aloof. I love slow walks, treats and sleeping a lot. My favorite part of Orcas Island: sniffing around the yard and house, and lying in the doggie bed that was probably meant for a much bigger dog!

Parker, a golden dog, lying on a dark dog bed next to a wooden side table.

I really enjoyed visiting Orcas Island, hiking all the trails and then relaxing in a comfortable bed with my family back at the house.

Maple, a tan and brown dog, standing in dry grass with mouth open.

I really enjoyed visiting Orcas Island and hiking on Turtleback Mountain and Obstruction Pass State Park!

Matilda, a black, white and tan dog, sitting on the lawn.

My favorite part of visiting Orcas Island was going on walks and hikes. Oh, and my parents getting married on the island was awesome too!

Gabi, a small fluffy white dog, standing on the deck in front of a door.

My favorite part of visiting Orcas Island was hiking through the woods to see Mountain Lake!

Belle, a black, white and tan dog, lying on a pale couch with a toy near the paws.

I loved my trip to Orcas Island! I especially enjoyed our morning trips to the dog park, walking around Mountain Lake and exploring Obstruction Pass. So many good smells! I also couldn’t get enough of the super soft couch at the house. When’s our next trip?

Yeager, a golden dog, standing on the deck beside the colorful metal sculpture.

Yeager

What I loved most about visiting Orcas Island was all the walks. We explored Turtleback Mountain and Moran State Park. They were long days, but I came back to a comfy bed and slept the whole night through, just to do it all again the next day!

Cardiff, a black, white and tan dog, standing on the deck next to the colorful metal sculpture.

I loved Orcas Island Getaway! There was so much to do and smell. I hiked around Summit Lake, watched the sun set from Rosario resort and climbed the observation tower at Mt. Constitution, which was my people’s favorite. But MY favorite was Obstruction Pass, where I got to swim and smell all the rocks and shells. Each day I came back to a cozy place to rest. I’m still exhausted from all the fun!

Sophie and Kane, two dark dogs, one large and one small, on a wood-chip path with a mossy hillside behind, and a person crouched behind the large dog.

Sophie & Kane

SOPHIE: I’m a ball full of energy, so I love short walks, long hikes, or just running around the yard. I play chase with my brother and love hearing the sounds of nature. It’s so peaceful here.

KANE: I love swimming, especially while mom and dad are kayaking. Sophie doesn’t like to swim like I do, so she stays in mom’s kayak. People on the beach look at us and laugh because we wear life jackets too, but we don’t care. We’re having a blast!
