Our journey to Orcas Island
Drawn to the island’s magical charm many years ago, we came here for the perfect escape from busy city life. After a year-long search, we found a home nestled among beautiful evergreens, close to town and Moran State Park. Our labor of love turned the house into a comfortable, more contemporary haven, and on Valentines Day 2014, the seed of Orcas Island Getaway was planted.
From weekend escape to full-time islanders
Opening our home as a vacation rental, we discovered the joy of sharing this beautiful island with others. With so much positive feedback from guests who chose our home for their special celebrations, we made our @ Bracken Fern home a full-time rental. In the summer of 2015 we sold our Seattle home, bought another property on Orcas Island, and became full-time islanders.
